Understanding the Dimensions and Dynamics of Poverty in Urban Underserved Settlements 2002-2003

The objective of this study was to increase the understanding of the dimensions and dynamics of poverty in underserved settlements in Colombo in order to design a system to monitor the impacts of CMC/PRIMUSS service provision. The methodology used for this study required working in close collaboration with the CMC with the larger goal of sensitising CMC officers regarding impact monitoring.

• Output/s - A series of workshops were also conducted throughout the process of the study to sensitise those involved in the initiative. An analysis workshop was held during the latter part of 2003 to present initial findings and discuss analysis points with the CMC team members who were involved in fieldwork and a draft of the final report was completed and submitted to CMC/PRIMUSS for comments.
