Poverty among Sri Lanka’s plantation sector workers has been a problem that has been difficult to address, mainly because of the unique nature of the sector. This comprehensive study uses qualitative methods to understand the nature and drivers of poverty in the estates. It has important insights for the industry, for policy makers, and for civil society organisations working with estate workers.
